The inclusion of the Arts teaching within the classroom is of great importance as it enriches the learning, aesthetic awareness and creativity of students. The Arts opens children up to a whole new unique language and way of knowing that helps them to learn and understand without the need for verbal forms of communication which can sometimes be lacking in younger children. Arts teaching allows children to develop an aesthetic sensibility and a sense of wonder about the world around them which enhances and encourages their use of critical thinking. Although some people speculate that ‘Schools Kill Creativity’, Arts teaching provides children with a medium in which creativity can flourish and ultimately improves the way children perceive situations and respond to the world around them. (Robinson, 2018) The creative arts provide all ages with an outlet to gain control of and explore their emotions and creativity through the Arts making it overall beneficial and of great importance for the mental wellbeing of students. The Arts ensure the inclusion of all children, no matter their diversity and background. Arts teaching can be articulated in a way that ensure it is fully inclusive of all students and appeals to the learning styles of all students- there is no one way for The Arts to be taught thus it can be altered to better suit the needs of every child. (Sinclair, 2017) Overall, when taught and incorporated into the classroom authentically The Arts is able to enrich the learning, aesthetic awareness and creativity of students in a way that is fun, engaging and enjoyable for all.
